Pastel Still Life

a quick study from last year

Drawing black, white, metallic and glass objects on black paper turned out to be harder than expected...

... everything but the fruit turned out non-colorful, not taking advantage of the medium - the surrounding objects just looked like a regular monochrome sketch.

so another attempt was made, without using black or too-light colors.
TO BE CONTINUED! :)

a dash of color

Came across some pastel exercises from last year!
copying from the guys who knew what they were doing :)

from a Suerrat sketch! the rest are Monets

Fake "Life" Drawings!

So around the end of last year i made these exercises of drawing figures as if a model was posing for me, when actually it all had to come from my imagination.

i tried to go about building the sketch the same way i would at a real session, not only sans model, but also withholding use of ANY reference material! it was tempting to pick up a book or google knee anatomy, but i managed to resist :)

hope you enjoy!
