Pastels

just letting you know, figure drawing isn't everything I've been doing lately.. it's just that the other stuff isn't so "post-able". I've been studying pastels, so for now it's all just basic exercises:

another way to learn is copying from the masters:  Degas, John Singer Sargent (with an altered palette) and some Klimt :) those guys really knew how lay some color!

Awesome Tattoo Ladies

Who knew that losing oneself in Buzzfeed could contribute to productivity (kind of)?

I had no idea women did this so long ago! Tattoos aren't really my thing, yet I can't help but admire these gutsy ladies for lending their bodies to art.

The first pic is of Maud Wagner from 1907, which inspired me to draw this:

I wanted to focus on her face and could not presume to tackle the illustrations on her skin, but had so much fun, I might do more :)
